As I am sure you know, I love walking (and hiking) a lot!

Over the last week I have been exploring the local Coromandel area by walking around it. I have walked on beaches, in forests, through small towns and up to viewpoints. Each and every step is special.

Breathe in and out. Take a step. Connect with all that is around.

I often walk as a meditation practice to find my inner stillness through nature. It inspires my senses and allows me to appreciate the everyday beauty by noticing the simple things.

I also walk to take photographs. Each and every day Mother Nature changes things around. She is ever present. No two sunsets are the same. And yes, I do love a good sunset and sunrise, though I struggle to get up early some days! 🙂

By being outdoors and in nature, I can connect and re-connect with my inner self. I am able to more easily reflect on life, myself and all that is. I feel my inner self so much more. And to me, that is something special and divine.

Enjoy some of the magical moments I saw, felt and walked through.

Photo walk is an opportunity to take a walk with me through my ‘photo’ eyes. I often see the world through photos and love exploring my surroundings in this way.

Breathe. Step. Connect.

Do you enjoy walking? Do you have a favourite walking ritual? Please share your experiences in the comments section.

  1. You know I love walking and hiking, and photographs. Your photos are so awesome and full of energy, and your captions so telling that it really feels I am right there with you! Thank you for sharing all your explorative steps and magical moments in New Zealand. I do enjoy walking with you, each and every single day, whatever you do wherever you go. Your photo walk is a very special way of being with you that makes me feel our divine connection. I am grateful for that.

And yes, walking is wonderful meditation practice to connect with my inner self, and to connect my inner self with Universe. I like exploring, but I also noticed that I tend to go to the very same places over and over… it is part of feeling the change and flowing with it, of being aware of the beauty just around me and knowing that it is all within.

Enjoy your NOW moments Delicia. May your ‘photo’ eyes help you find your inner stillness, love and happiness.

    Love and light

    • So very special – so thank you for sharing and connecting in this space! I am truly enjoying my NOW moments and wish you wonderful NOW moments too. Love and light and laughter and mindful walking!

  2. Hi mssD

Great photos as usual, seeing NZ from the comfort of my lounge is very convenient. Thanks again for the virtual tour.

As you know for me walking is not a hobby but a means of transport, as my Victor has the car during the day. But it is also something I love to do.

I guess my daily walk to do rt (retail therapy) is my ritual.

As I walk I see all the familiar faces in the street and shops that I regularly visit, the newspaper vendor, the flower seller, the barber, even the security guards and the homeless people. When my late mom visited some years ago I would take her on my daily rt walk with me. She used to laugh and thought that I knew everyone in the whole world, as we walked along waving and greeting everyone.

So my walking isn’t a peaceful meditation but a connection to all the colourful characters that I regularly meet along the way. Those faces are a part of the tapestry of my life, and I would miss out on all those smiles if I were to take the car. It also seconds as a form of exercise specially on the way back with all my heavy parcels.

So thank you for making me think about it in that way, and for reminding me to be grateful for not having the car during the day.

    Luv lots
