Here comes 2014…

table mountain my grounding view

As 2013 comes to a close I am reflecting on my three words for the year past – simplicity, balance and stillness.

I am quietly thinking about how they formed part of my year, where I walked closely with them and where the gaps were larger. My intentions were always to have them near. It is a process of being gentle with myself as I reflect on all that 2013 has brought into my life – the joys, the challenges, the changes, the moments, the laughs, the tears. And I am extremely grateful for all that came my way!

Smile. Breathe. And go slowly.

At the same time I am looking forward to what 2014 may bring to my side and considering which three words should accompany me for the next 365 days. This takes time to feel what I need. It takes time to listen to my soul and my heart and my body. I have to trust my intuition and feelings. (And I will share more about these in the New Year. 😉 )

A little something that inspired me from my soulsister E. that I would like to share forward. I will hold this little quote closely in 2014. I really enjoy Brene Brown‘s work and plan to read her book Daring Greatly in the new year. I hear great things!

‘Imperfections are not inadequacies; they are reminders that we’re all in this together.’ – Brene Brown

Added to this, I found this post from Sarah Varcas about discerning the path ahead particularly relevant as I approach 2014.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you a continued happy festive season and a joyful New Year!

May you step gently into 2014 and may it bring you all the magic and happiness you so deserve.

Smile. Breathe. Slowly.

Have you given any thought to what your desires for 2014 are?

  1. The peace that comes through your photo is soothing and perfect to accompany you as you are preparing to step into the new year. Thank you for sharing it!

As 2013 comes to a close I am inviting you to be grateful to yourself for all the beautiful steps you took. It has been a difficult year, but beside challenges and hard time there have been countless NOW moments of joy, self-truth, delight, heart connections, beauty, stillness, unconditional love. And I am also sure you agree that even if sometimes it has been really tough, what we learnt along the way added incredible value to our lives. Smile. Breathe. Be grateful.
You did a great job with your three words, though I feel you are still struggling a little bit with balance 😉 Just relax and accept that out-of-balance is part of living a balanced life! Focus on experiencing Yin-Yang opposites as complementary and you will find the Unity you are seeking.

I am reading Daring Greatly and I am loving it as much as all the posts from Sarah Varcas of the last couple of months! It seems that in 2014 there will be quite some work to be done. At first I was a bit discouraged, but reflecting on all the readings of the last weeks I started to feel that I am not alone, that ‘we’re all in this together’, that it is not just me having difficulties and making mistakes, that I should not judge (neither me nor others) but write my own story living with courage and compassion, sharing to connect with soulsisters and soulbrothers and contribute to Cosmic Teamwork (great post from SV). Yes, the important message that is coming through is that we are asked to take people along with us, to find ways ‘to accommodate difference in a way that enables dialogue’. I hope all of us will embrace this opportunity of healing each other.

I feel you are also reflecting on this, breathing slowly and getting ready to dare even more greatly, to commit fully to the Oneness with trust and love. I am sure there will be so much to share in our real life and in this wonderful space. I am looking forward to all of this. My gratitude for all the lessons, inspirations and love you bring into my life. May 2014 bring you all what you need and wish.

    We are all One. Namaste.

    • Beautiful Annalisa! Thank you.

My gratitude for your loving kindness and sweet words. I also look forward to our sharing more space and thank you for all that you add here and to my life. You are a special soul with so much to share.

Yes, I also feel 2014 will be a big year, on so many levels, and Sarah Varcas captures and shares this so well. We have work to do, things to share and moments to enjoy. I look forward to reading Daring Greatly this year and think it will tie in nicely with my three words for 2014. 😉 What have you chosen to take you with you into 2014?

I trust that 2014 will bring you all you need and want and that you will continue to step gently along your journey.

      We are all ONE. Namaste!

  2. This is a beautiful post… It took me some times to read it and “sink” into it… I have not chosen words for 2014. I never have done that before, but I might give it a try. It has been a great pleasure to discover your blog in 2013 as it brings me huge inspiration. I wish you all the best for this coming year and will read you every time with the same pleasure.

    • Thank you Steph! I am so happy that we connected in 2013. May 2014 bring you all you desire and need in your life. I look forward to hearing what words you chose for 2014. Any thoughts yet?
